Just Because the Glove Fits Doesn't Always

Mean You Should Wear It

I was originally planning on writing an inspiring story of our Healthmark softball team victory last Friday, but unfortunately we lost.  As the saying goes, "You win some and you lose some."  Hopefully we can turn it around this week.

The first game I played this season, I remember pulling out my glove and cleats from my bat bag and thinking to myself that I have owned this glove for a really long time.  I've been using it for around 20 years, so I guess it's broken in.   I first used it during high school baseball.  I only used it when I was pitching or playing in the outfield.  Somewhere around the house, I'm sure I  have a collection of gloves that I've used over the years from playing different positions.  Each glove had a unique feature that was designed specifically for that position.  For instance, a third baseman typically has a smaller glove than an outfielder for an easy transition to the throwing hand when they are scooping up a ground ball. The first basemen also has a unique glove designed to make it easier to catch the ball from the other infielders.

My point is that not every glove can be used for every position.  I think its a similar situation when working in Decontam.  Depending on the work that you are performing it may require that you use a different glove.  Some jobs might only require a normal size and thickness others may require longer sleeves and thicker material.  Remember to always use gloves that will properly protect you and that best suits your position.
