Last week, we had a few articles centered on packaging and what was going on within our industry, from standards to issues packaging manufactures face. Properly packaging a medical device is critical. It does not matter if it is done at the Healthcare Facility or by the Medical Device Manufacturer, it is crucial that sterilization is maintained. Packaging professionals can wrap anything. In fact, one year my staff wrapped my Christmas gift in sterilization wrap! My family had never seen that type of material before when I brought the package home to be opened on Christmas day. Regardless, if the item is a medical product or a loved one's Christmas present, picking the appropriate material is important to protect whatever it is you are packaging. Healthmark wishes that the spirit of the Holidays,with its Peace and Joy, abides with you throughout the year.

Regardless of whose packing material you use, such as peel pouches for example, make sure you use the correct temperature to seal the pouch if using heatsealable pouches. Each manufacturer has a specific range for proper sealing.
