Protecting While Cleaning
|
One of the worst things that can happen while emptying the dishwasher is finding a broken dish or glass. One item that I will always hand wash is a wine glass. Often times these are much too delicate for the dishwasher. If there was a way to protect it during the washing process I would be more comfortable putting the glass in with the other dishes, but I find that it isn't worth the risk.
Many surgical instruments are also sent through the automatic washer on a regular basis. Most of the time it can be routine, but every once in awhile there are delicate instruments that require a little more attention. One of the challenges now becomes not only making sure the instruments are clean, but also that they aren't damaged in the process. There are other precautions that can be taken when washing delicate instruments. Silicone Mesh Covers are made to cover instrument trays in order to restrict movement during mechanical washing. Adding protective accessories like these covers can help delicate instruments last longer.
