Protection Against All Elements

We have been very fortunate in the last few months in Michigan, we have experienced a fairly mild winter and temperatures haven't been all that cold up until now. No matter how many winters I experience, I never seem ready for the first bitter cold temperatures of the winter. Remembering to wear proper hats, gloves and coats are imperative to being safe and comfortable this winter.

It is important to protect yourself in the environment you're in and particularly when you are working in the decontam department. Be sure that you wear personal protection equipment (PPE) of high quality that complies with OSHA standards. There are a variety of products, including gloves, face shields, gowns and boots, that can offer you additional protection when working with contaminated instruments and equipment.

Certified for use in chemotherapy, these gloves are thick enough and tough enough for use in Decontam. This thick, 15 mil, textured, powder-free latex glove is the decontam glove of choice by professionals who handle potentially hazardous items.

Tip of the Week

Always use PPE gear when working with contaminated instruments and equipment. Click here to learn more from OSHA about potential hazards in Central Supply and the appropriate PPEs to help minimize exposure.
