Why Reinvent the Wheel?

Reinventing the wheel is a phrase that means to duplicate a basic method that has already previously been created or optimized by others. How many times have we been some place and noticed something so simple that we could adapt to our own life or even work and say "WOW!!! That is a great idea!". You should share that with others.
Besides going to a meeting and networking, which is a great way to share ideas, we have some other great ways to share our ideas and information. Many of the professional groups have member communities or forums where questions can be asked and answered by members only.

IAHCSMM has their discussion forum for their members; to check it out go to: http://www.iahcsmm.org/portal/index.php

AORN has its OR link for their members; to check their site out go to: www.ornurselink.org

Many of the other professional groups have similar ways for members to share ideas and information.

About two weeks ago, I was sent a question that had 300 people on the email. It was a simple question, but the person who sent it was frustrated that they had no means to communicate with other professionals. They were not a member of any professional group (their own choice) and were reaching out the only way they knew how: a blast email question. In researching more into this, there are many  professionals who, for their own reason, do not belong to any professional group and cannot join some of the forums I have previously mentioned. To make a long story short; we at Healthmark have come up with a simple solution; a way to ask a question to others and get a response. This is a way to help all levels of professionals so they do not have to "reinvent the wheel". I hope you will check it out and see if you want to be part of this. See the Coupon at the bottom of this email for a link and read the simple directions.

Blast Emails and SPAM Risks

Sources show that 78% to 97% of all emails sent across the internet are SPAM. That is an astronomical amount of email! When sending emails, there are certain limitations that you must abide by in order to not be flagged as SPAM. In some instances, email providers (and 3rd party filter companies that they employ) have harsh consequences for users who violate their limitation guidelines. These consequences are commonly, but not limited to, suspension of outgoing mail for a predetermined period which may increase with each infraction, or even worse, termination of email hosting accounts and blacklisting of your company. Some typical attributes of an email that may cause your account to be flagged are:

·         Sending emails with more than 100 recipients
·         Sending more than 1000 emails a day from one email address
·         Sending email attachments that exceed 20MB
·         Having the Title(Subject) of your email in ALL CAPS
·         Sending HTML messages with a low ratio of text to images
·         Excessive use of different colors, fonts, sizes, etc.
·         And many more...

These limitations do not apply to all email accounts and vary between email providers. However, most providers do have some sort of limitations in place and it is good to be aware of what the limitations are on your specific account so as not to be subject to any sort of reprimand.
