Keeping the Gold Standard

The winter Olympics have ended and I would have to say ice hockey is one of my favorite events to watch. The USA women's team was phenomenal this year. They brought home the gold in an amazing shootout conclusion vs. Canada. I have played hockey (very unorganized) in the past and skating alone is difficult enough, let alone the coordination of swinging a stick at a small puck all while avoiding full body contact from the opposition. It requires tremendous athleticism and skill and also the right equipment for protection. Masks, gloves, padding and mouthguards are all essential to keeping the player as safe as possible.

Just like in a hospital setting, it is important to use the right equipment to keep your staff safe. Using the appropriate face shields, gowns, gloves and other PPE will keep you protected when working with biohazardous items. Whether it is on the ice or in an decontam room, working with the finest and safest equipment has the best outcome.
