In Loving Memory of Tony Carrara

Each week a story is written about a subject related to our small world of Infection Control and device reprocessing. Occasionally the story is related to specific individuals in this small world of ours. Today's is about one such person. It is with a heavy heart that we must pass on the news of the loss of Tony Carrara. Tony was a fixture in the Northern California healthcare market representing us for over 27 years. Tony was always laughing and ready with a joke. No matter how bad your day may have been, after a chat with Tony, it was a lot better. He was more than a rep. He was a good man who cared. We will miss Tony.

The following is an excerpt from Tony Carrara's eulogy, outlining his life and legacy:

Tony Carrara passed away on June 5, 2018. Tony was predeceased by his grandparents Natalie and Emma, mother Mary and step-father Victor. He is survived by his wife Donna, son Joseph, brother John, uncle George and cousins Mark and Michelle.

Tony was born in San Francisco at French Hospital in 1951. He attended lakeshore elementary school, Aptos Junior High and Lowell High School (1969 graduate). Tony obtained his AA degree from S.F. City College (1971) and studied at S.F. State College.

In the 1970's Tony owned and operated a successful painting contracting business in Spokane, Washington. In the 1980's Tony returned to California and for several years was top salesman for the Becton-Dickinson Company. In 1990 Tony established his own independent sales marketing company specializing in the sale of medical devices.

Tony had a great love of horses, dogs, hunting, fishing, and his family. He was blessed with an engaging personality, love of people and the attention to details big and small.

Tony will be greatly missed by hundreds of friends in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and all of Northern California.
