A Place in the Sun (and in Water)

Oh, those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. It's the best time of year to be outside. However, along with sunshine there is hot, hot, heat. If you're going to leave the air conditioned indoors there better be a pool, lake, ocean, pond, or even a sprinkler nearby. Right? We do love the sun, but the only way one can enjoy its heat is with plenty of water. It's necessary not only for preventing heat exhaustion but for hydration as well.
Equally, even the smallest organisms use water for survival. Water is essential for the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Inadequately cleaned medical instruments, such as endoscopes, are ideal for microbial growth especially if there is moisture residue. This includes internally as well as externally. It is suggested that proper drying of endoscopes and its accessories may reduce the risk of hospital acquired infections.
Healthmark's Sterile Wipes assist with drying endoscopes and related equipment. These ultra-durable wipes have a dimension of 9"x9" and are made of a blend of cellulose and virgin polyester and are non-linting. These validated sterile wipes are also abrasion resistant. Once the medical instrument is removed from the Automated Endoscope Reprocessor, use the wipe to cover the distal tip of the endoscope during alcohol/air flush.
