Standards season is about to kick into gear.
The development of a standard is a bit like assembling a rock.
From scratch.
With spit, sand and water.
For the longest time, it has no shape.
Then, mostly shapeless.
At some point, it has shape, but grotesque.
It evolves.
It has shape.
It is not hideous.
It is a standard.
It is now the rock upon which better standards are built.
Just a little bit (at a time).
