INTERCHANGEABLE PARTS
ISSUE NO. 548
Some of my favorite tools are the ones that come with interchangeable parts. I probably use my multi-bit screwdriver the most out of all my tools. No matter what I’m working on, I’m prepared with whatever bit is required for the job. I don’t have to make multiple trips to the workstation and dig through my tools to find different screwdrivers.

One of the optical inspection tools that this reminds me of, that is a great benefit to the Sterile Processing Department, is the LED Interchangeable Magnifier. It’s manufactured with an interchangeable 5-diopter glass lens that has a 2.25x magnification, 360 rotatable lamp head and a fully enclosed spring balanced arm to prevent pinching hazards. Equipped with 64 ultra-bright white SMD (Surface Mounted Device) LEDs with brightness adjustable controls, the LED Interchangeable Magnifier has a reach of 36 Inches, max illumination of 950lm, wattage of 6W and includes a table clamp with a 2-inch opening. The LED Interchangeable Magnifier power supply has an input of 100-240V-50/60Hz -0.45A and output of 26V/500mA. Interchangeable lenses are offered in the following magnifications and diopters: 2.25x (5 diopter), 3x (8 diopter), 4x (12 diopter), and 4.75x (15 diopter).

When performing optical inspection, this interchangeable tool can save you from needing different magnifiers with varied magnification for your station.
