| We Are Not Alone... |
No, not referring to
visitors from space. I mean other industries struggle with limiting cross contamination too. I don't share this to make us in healthcare feel better. Let's face it, when we cross contaminate, the consequences can be the difference between life and death. But you know what, we are not alone. Not even in the consequences of our actions. As this week's story highlights, cross contamination is a major issue in the food service industry. Like us, food service operates in an environment of high stress. Production, throughput, customer service, cost containment, etc. - these are factors both industry face. And dedication to preventing contamination is often a casualty of these pressures. We can learn from others, including in other industries. Check out this story and think of it as a reflection on our own challenges.
