Since this past March we have all experienced a new “normal” as we come to know it. Businesses were closed, your favorite restaurant offered carryout only, and you only saw family and loved ones through webcam or FaceTime.
When I was talking to family and friends during the beginning of quarantine, we would talk about what we recommend watching on Netflix and what needless items we were purchasing on Amazon. Most of my friends and relatives mentioned that they needed to discipline themselves due to all the time they had at home to shop online.
As for myself, I decided to take the opportunity to take up a few new hobbies with the time I spent at home. The first was a mead fermenting kit. For those that aren’t familiar with mead, it's made of honey vs grapes. The sugar from the honey ferments with yeast into a tasty beverage. The process is quite long, so I will have to update you how it turns out in another issue in the next few months.
The second hobby I decided to learn is playing the guitar. I took piano lessons as a kid, but like many I always wanted to learn to play the guitar. I ordered a beginner acoustic on Amazon and started taking tutorial lessons on YouTube. It's amazing how much you can learn from YouTube tutorials, particularly Marty’s Music. For any of you that have thought about trying it, I highly recommended it.
After months of stay-at-home orders, we are now seeing that elective surgeries, dental offices and other places are opening back up. One important online purchase that you will want to make is personal protection face shields at StyleYourPPE.com. They are now being offered in a pack of 10 for purchase, along with a variety of other personal protection attire.
Slowly, regulations are being lifted and businesses are opening and more people are going back to work. Please be sure to be safe and always follow the CDC recommended guidelines when at work or in public places. Stay safe!
