Halloween was one of my favorite times of the year as a kid. Dressing up in costumes, trick or treating and filling my pillow case with as much candy as it would hold. Occasionally, I would run into the house that gave out pennies, but for the most part I would get a nice variety of candy I enjoyed.
Afterwards, my sister, cousins and I would eat our candy and watch one of the Halloween movies: Friday the 13th, Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street are classics that come to mind that were at the top of our list.
This year, we all need to be a little safer for our little trick or treaters. Due to COVID-19, the CDC advises the steps listed below for trick or treating this year:
• Avoid direct contact with trick-or-treaters.
• Give out treats outdoors, if possible.
• Set up a station with individually bagged treats for kids to take.
• Wash hands before handling treats.
• Wear a mask.
Have a Happy and Safe Halloween!
