Thanksgiving Leftovers
ISSUE NO. 650
I have been fortunate all of my life to not have to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. Over the years, I’ve always enjoyed the holiday hosted by other family members. I can appreciate the hard work and stress involved with all the cooking and everything else that goes into setting up and decorating. One of the most frustrating things about Thanksgiving is not only being forced to watch the Detroit Lions play a nationally televised game, but sending everyone home with leftovers. You pack turkey, stuffing, potatoes and desserts in your favorite Tupperware and there is always that one family member that forgets to return it to you. I’m familiar with this issue because I’m the one in my family that has frustrated my mom and aunts over the years. They did eventually come up with a solution to the problem I continuously caused by sending me home with leftovers packaged in disposable zip-lock bags. It was perfect, no need for me to clean and return...I could simply throw it away when I finished the leftovers.

Have you had this issue in the Operating Room or Sterile Processing Department? Of course we are talking about surgical instruments instead of food, but it’s the same concept with surgical equipment transportation containers. If so, it might be time to start using Disposable SSTs.

The Disposable SST Tray System is designed for post-procedure transportation of contaminated instruments from procedure areas to the decontamination area. The Disposable SST Tray System is single-use, and is also clear to help conveniently and quickly identify the instruments inside. Manufactured from 100% recyclable plastic, the Disposable SST Tray System comes with a base with the dimensions of 30cm L x 33cm W x 11cm D, as well as a matching lid. Weight capacity of the tray has been tested to 25 lbs.

Whether it's at work or at home, keep it simple by keeping it disposable. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
