In the year 2000, President Clinton declared March as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal Cancer (cancer of the colon or rectum)
is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States among both men and women. One in twenty people will be diagnosed with
colorectal cancer. One in three people are not up-to-date with colorectal cancer screening according to
Maimonides
Medical Center. To help
raise awareness by educating individuals on the benefits of screenings, click on the coupon area for a free Blue Ribbon PPE Decal.
This week is also GI Nurses and Associates Week. All of us at Healthmark would also like to take a moment to recognize all of the professionals
that are dedicated to the safe and effective practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Enjoy your week!
