Securing Important Items

ISSUE NO. 738

What do the Vatican, White House and Area 51 all have in common? If you guessed that they are some of the most secure areas in the world, you are correct. Fort Knox is said to be one of the most secure places in America, the 109,000 acre base is used to house a large portion of the United States gold reserves.

We go through great lengths to secure valuable areas and items. From locks and security systems to large vaults and safes. Taking extra precautions is helpful in order to maintain quality assurance. When working with several different containers and trays, items can be difficult to track and identify. Using products like tamper-evident twist locks can help SPD professionals take the guesswork out of the status of items in a sealed tray. These seals can easily be broken by hand, so you will always be sure if the contents have been opened or not after the sterilization process. Locks available in different colors and optional numbers will help to identify contents inside each container and whether it has been through a sterilization process. Using tamper-evident products, like twist locks, will help keep you from second guessing the items inside.
