SEVY Award

ISSUE NO. 762

The SEVY Award (Service, Excellence, Value, You) is given out annually at Advocate Christ Hospital located in Oak Lawn, Illinois. This award recognizes an SPD tech that best exemplifies the crucial work being done in the “Heart of the Hospital”. The SEVY Award is the creation of SPD Manager Yves Theodule (SEVY spelled backwards is Yves) and John Colburn of V. Mueller, marking its 17th year of existence.

SPD Manager Yves Theodule announced that Samantha Green was selected as the winner of the 2023 SEVY Award. Theodule had remarked about Green winning the award, “What you do daily counts the most. Samantha used to go 0-60 in seconds, loaded with energy. She has that same energy and enthusiasm, and it is directed in a positive and supportive team first way. She has taken the time to learn and improve her skill set, and is one of the team leaders for her department.”

Samantha was presented with the SEVY plaque, a big screen television and the book, “Health, Hope and Healing for all for a more equitable and affordable healthcare”, by author Eugene A. Woods, CEO Advocate Health.

As Samantha graciously accepted the SEVY Award, she stated, “I’m very proud of this award because of the tremendous respect the people have for those who have won this award in the past.” She also mentioned, “I could not have gotten to this level without the support of Yves and all the people I work with.” Adding to the excitement, Samantha’s Mom was in attendance who also works at Christ Health. She proudly stated, “I’m very proud of the person she is and how hard she has worked to reach this level.”

Congratulations to Samantha Green for being this year's SEVY Award Winner!
