Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month & GI Nurses and Associates Week

ISSUE NO. 771

Colorectal Cancer (cancer of the colon or rectum) is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States among both men and women. The CDC recommends screenings beginning at the age of 45. Regular screenings are the key to preventing colorectal cancer.

To increase the profile of this disease and encourage screening, President Clinton designated March as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in February 2000.

We at Healthmark would like to continue to help raise awareness by educating individuals on the benefits of screenings. Please visit the feature area below to request a complimentary Blue Ribbon PPE Decal to help spread awareness.

This week is also GI Nurses and Associates Week. All of us at Healthmark would also like to take a moment to recognize all of the professionals that are dedicated to the safe and effective practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Enjoy your week!
