Having the Right Packaging

ISSUE NO. 778

There is nothing worse than not having the proper equipment for a task. While cleaning out my basement last weekend, I came across many items that needed to be thrown out or donated. As I was sorting through my items, I realized the heavier items I was throwing out were causing tears in my bags. I had to double up to remedy the situation, but what I really needed was a heavy duty material to contain these items.

Sterile Processing Professionals are often tasked with reprocessing surgical instruments and equipment of various shapes and sizes. Not all of these items are packaged the same, that is why Healthmark has introduced the Steriking® Reinforced Rolls to our Sterilization product line.

Manufactured for instruments requiring stronger packaging, the latex-free Steriking® Reinforced Rolls are designed as packing material for sterilization of heavy items by steam and ethylene oxide gas (EO). They are offered in the form of a continuous roll, which allows the user to cut to the desired length. The non-sterile Steriking® Reinforced Rolls are available in the following widths: 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 inches. They are constructed of heavy weight 100 gsm paper that is heat-sealed together with a multi-ply PET/PP-plastic laminate and equipped with strong and durable multi-line parallel seams that promote a clean peel.
