Extending the Clock After Robotic Surgery

ISSUE NO. 806

Unexpected occurrences can happen when reprocessing robotic surgical instruments. What if you're short staffed or have an unexpected large amount of surgical instruments that come in that need to be reprocessed?

When it comes to reprocessing, timing is an important factor. After a procedure, biomaterial from the patient remains on the instruments and/or equipment. If the biomaterial isn’t removed soon after the procedure, it will dry and harden, making it extremely difficult to remove later. The Humipak for Robotic Instruments is the perfect solution.

Manufactured from polyester-polypropylene films with a highly hydrophilic, blue viscose inner liner, the Humipak for Robotic Instruments consists of a layer of highly absorbent material sandwiched between two layers of waterproof film. Simply place the instruments inside the Humipak, add the specified amount of water to the absorbent layer, and seal with the peel away adhesive strip. This creates a watertight, moist atmosphere that will prevent organics from drying over an extended period.

Humipak for Robotic Instruments are designed for single use. The 8.3 x 32 inch Humipak is designed for a single robotic instrument, whereas the 16.5 x 32 inch Humipak accommodates four robotic instruments.
