Well, this week it seems everybody turns green. March 17th is St. Patrick's days so why not talk about going green. Many of us might wonder why people wear green on St. Patrick's Day.
One legend says that the custom comes from the color of the shamrock, which St. Patrick is said to have used to teach about his religion.
Another explanation notes that back in the 18th century, Irish people were said to wear green so that they'd be invisible to the leprechauns (who would pinch anyone they could see).
Now going green means being eco-friendly and reducing your carbon footprint. In fact, the EPA has a very special recognition program for these products called DFE which stands for: Designed For the Environment. These products have gone through a very tough and rigorous program to get this special distinction.
The Chicago River is turned green during this week with a "special secret formula" in honor of St. Patrick's Day (it is poured into the river). The beer in many local taverns and pubs will somehow be green for the day too.
